Credentialing Specialist

We currently have an opening for an independent contractor Medical Credentialing Specialist.  This position is home-based, part-time, with a high degree of flexibility in work schedule.  Qualified candidates must be:  service-oriented, extremely detail-oriented and organized, effective at multi-tasking, and have an entrepreneurial outlook.

Responsibilities

Work with medical professionals in a broad range of disciplines and geographies to support credentialing/re-credentialing applications and provider enrollment.  Audit and verify documentation and data.  Maintain database of client information.  Regularly interact with medical staff, medical office administrative staff and management, licensing agencies and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing.

  • Manage enrollment process, set and meet critical milestones on time within the process
  • Effectively manage multiple clients/projects at the same time
  • Error-free data management and data entry
  • Maintain detailed and accurate customer files/account information
  • Understand healthcare provider/payee business structure and roles within
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, other medical professionals, and management and administrative staff at regulatory agencies, medical offices and insurance providers; motivate with limited direct authority
  • Identify issues and bring to the attention of management as needed
  • Meet productivity and performance requirements

  • Set and adhere to timelines
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google G Suite, Adobe Acrobat, internet and internet applications

Helpful Skills

  • 1 – 3 years of medical credentialing or medical billing experience
  • Familiarity with CAQH
  • Familiarity with OSHA, HIPAA practices
